Graceful Perseverance: God is in Control - 12/15/24

Welcome to this week's Blog Café. I know without a doubt that my calling is to write and publish God's messages and teachings for all of us to absorb, ponder on, and learn by. As an author and writer, I have a very special scripture by which I live by, and is posted on my website to always remember not only for my readers, but for myself as well - "The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing His work" - John 14:10 (NIV).

Today's topic is "God is in Control" (Daniel 4:28-37 NKJV). First let's observe today's current state of the world by taking a collective account of events and indicators that Jesus' 2nd Coming is very near, at our front door. If we have eyes to see, we must look around, we must watch for the signs, as noted in Matthew 24:1-14 (NKJV). We must watch the frequency and intensity of these events, not just local events, but worldly events. I believe, according to God's word, the sequence of events are all deliberate and intentional in order to prepare us for what's ahead - His Return.

In Matthew 24:1-14 (NKJV), Jesus gives us signs of the times and the end of the age - 2-And Jesus said to them, "Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down."

And, Matthew 24:14 (NKJV) confirms for us the end is near - "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and the end will come."

Yes, this news is sobering, but it should instill an urgency in our hearts, as we draw closer to the Book of Revelation, Jesus' Return, just as He forewarned the people in Noah's days. These collective events should give us hope, not fear or discouragement. The reality is, we are living in the "Beginning of Sorrows," or otherwise called "End Times." Scripture also refers to this as the beginning of "Birth Pains." We are at a crossroads of the final pages of earth as we know it, and our lives as we live out each day. But may I remind you my friend, "God is in Control" (Daniel 4:28-37 NKJV) - God's guiding sovereign events should serve as a reminder for all of us. The events that are unfolding are the signs of the Prophetic Revelation of Jesus' return. He is preparing us, to be hopeful and encouraged that each of us are closer to eternity with Him. Whether we go to Him or He comes to us, His return is a breath away, a heartbeat away, a second away.

We serve a living God, He is in control! Heaven reigns over the earth, and all that is in it. God is watching you, and God is watching me, always. His eyes are on all of us. As the world becomes more and more wicked, as more and more people fall away from Jesus, God in the flesh, as people's regard for Jesus grows less and less, as people continue to live their lives with the material pursuit of money, as if they will never be judged, sinful pleasure increases with intensity. God is watching ! We must without hesitation renounce our sin, be kind to the oppressed, and humble ourselves before the Lord. He is watching all of us! If you believe the way to heaven is because you consider yourself a good, moral person, you help others, you go to church, you pray, and you tithe, that's NOT what gets you into heaven. But I must add, by doing these good deeds, we will be rewarded for our good deeds in heaven, but these deeds are not our "free ticket" to heaven.

So if "God is in Control" (Daniel 4:28-37 NKJV) and He is watching all of us, what does get us into heaven? If you've been "Born Again," you will have a peace knowing He's your advocate while living in these end times. If you are "Born Again," as an adult, you have professed with your tongue out loud, and believe with all of your heart, your soul, and your mind that Jesus died for your sins. You believe He saved you from the eternity of hell, and last, that you've professed with your tongue that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior. . . this is what gets us into heaven. He is the reason I am going to heaven, NOT because of something I did or have done in my life on this earth.

We must acknowledge the Most High is Sovereign! John 3:16 (NKJV) - For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Blessings until next week my brothers and sisters in Christ,
