Welcome to this week’s blog. Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so. This past week it's been heavy on my heart to share with my readers that Jesus (Yeshua) loves me. It is my desire to share with you how I know Jesus loves me. If you're from my generation, you will remember the prayer we were taught to pray before bedtime.
"Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so. Little ones to whom Him belong, they are weak, but He is strong. Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me for the Bible tells me so."
Jesus loves me! This I know, for He loved me long ago, even before He perfectly knit me in my mother's womb. He forever continues to take me on His knee, saying, “Let my child come to me.” Jesus' endless love is very much alive for me today, even with all of my shortcomings, and in my sinful mess. Jesus continues to walk with me on my path. He stays close beside me every minute of every day. I've learned to silently talk to Him and rely on Him throughout my days. I can ask Jesus a question, and Jesus answers me. Jesus wants nothing more than to be my friend, to give love and light to all who live for Him. Jesus loves me, and you alike! I believe deep in my heart that when I return home, He will meet me at Heaven's gates, and be right there to open the gate for me. It is when the gates open, His little children enter.
The Bible tells me He promises me He has washed away my sin. Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me that He shed His blood for me, and died for me, therefore, my life is His. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. - John 3:16 (ESV).
My steps may be slow, and my nights may be dark and long, but He's right there telling me oh so clear that He's right beside me, so have no fear. God is bigger than fear. God is bigger than nightmares. God is bigger than sleepless night due to fear and worry. God will not allow me to experience anything in this life, that hasn't already passed through His hands. And this is because He already knows what I am going to go through before I do; therefore, He knows He will be with me. When I get lost, and go down the wrong path, He's right there to redirect me. Whenever the pain is too much for me to bare, and I fall to my knees pleading for Him to lift me up, He's right there to lift me up. He's been my rock when I cannot find the strength. He reaches out His hand for me to grip, when I've lost the faith. He reminds me, "Hold on tight," and it is with His strength that He pulls me out of the darkest moments of my life. He's the one who carries the weight of this life when it is too much for me. I experience no pain God cannot wash away. I experience nothing too big for God. There is nothing in my life God cannot fix.
God's love is unconditional. His love is perfect and eternal. He sees His children in a light of love. He continues to show me His purpose and His Will for my life. He shows me how to live according to His plan for my life. He continues to provide me undeserving blessings. With a renewed heart, and a renewed faith, I can now see all that God blesses me with each and every day. God has changed my heart. He has renewed me with a compassionate heart. He has shown me how to be patient in difficult and challenging times. He has filled me with kindness, and humility towards myself and others. He has rid me of my old self who was once filled with anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from my lips. He has helped me take off my old self, with its ungodly practices, and helped me put on my new self, which is being renewed in the knowledge, and in the image of my Creator.
Colossians 3:12 (NIV) tell us - Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived.
But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. - Colossians 3:1-10 (NIV).
Life changes when we earnestly and wholeheartedly invest in the Lord. We then realize all we've been blessed with truly is from Him. He will always be my destination, my eternal life with Him. The Bible tells us that God has some big, big plans for those who belong to Him. And when we learn what He's done for His children, we realize how much Jesus loves us for the Bible tells us so. In God's eyes we are chosen, holy and beloved. His love is alive in us. When we love and obey Jesus, we become like Him with new compassionate hearts. We show kindness, we maintain humility, and we trust the patience He has instilled in us, all to lead us to repentance. Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance? - Romans 2:4 (NIV).
God loves me because it's who He is. He loves me not out of duty or obligation, but because it's who Jesus is, and what He's done for me. God shows me underserving love. Let God's love change you, as it has changed me. God's love has helped me forgive those who have wronged me, and for those who have been unkind to me in my life. Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. - 2 Corinthians 7:10 (NIV).
Set your minds on God, and the Bible, because Jesus loves me, and you alike. So, what will you choose? To live according to God's Will or your own will? Whatever you choose, this is how others will remember you. Did you leave a legacy of love, a love for Christ? Did you stand or did you fall? Did you make others laugh or did you make them cry? Did you tell the truth or did you tell lies? Did you judge others or did you show unconditional love?
When it is our time to return home, it matters most in the eyes of God what we did in this life. What you did in this life is also how others will remember you. But the most important thing to remember, it is God who's always watching what we do in private and in public. God sees all things and knows all things. Love the Lord with all of your heart and with all of your soul for He will hear your voice and your cry for mercy. He will turn His ear to you when you call on Him, for as long as you live.
